About Me

Hi! My name is Sonya Lightfoot. I'm a preschool teacher, a dog mom, a wife and photographer. I have always had a love for capturing life's beautiful moments, both prompted and candid. My passion for photography was further encouraged when my husband surprised me with a camera for Christmas a couple of years ago and the rest is history. Having been raised by my grandmother with many siblings I have a soft spot for unique family situations which has always helped me connect with people on a deeper level and, in turn, made for some beautiful moments worth capturing.

About the name:

Growing up I made a strong connection with my English Teachers. My English teachers challenged me to use my critical thinking and understand words for more than what is on the surface. It was during my Junior year of highschool that I was introduced to "Invictus", a poem by William Ernest Henley:

Out of the night that covers me,

Black as the pit from pole to pole,

I thank whatever gods may be

For my unconquerable soul.

In the fell clutch of circumstance

I have not winced nor cried aloud.

Under the bludgeonings of chance

My head is bloody, but unbowed.

Beyond this place of wrath and tears

Looms but the Horror of the shade,

And yet the menace of the years
